The Garden of Forgiveness, (also known as Hadiqat As-Samah in Arabic), lies close to Martyrs’ Square and the wartime Green Line. It is surrounded by places of worship belonging to different denominations, and reveals many layers of Beirut’s past.

The René Moawad Garden is located in the Sanayeh district of Beirut, Lebanon. The garden is one of the oldest public open-air spaces in the capital. The garden is popular among the elderly who sit in the shade of the trees to play cards, backgammon or chess. The garden is also a place where artists exhibit their work.
